Gender Sensitization Cell

The Institute is committed of creating and maintaining a community staff and students can work together in an environment free of violence, harassment, exploitation, intimidation and stress. This includes all forms of gender violence, sexual harassment and discrimination on the basis of sex Institute must be aware that while the Institute is committed to the right to freedom of expression and association, it strongly supports gender equality and opposes any form of gender discrimina violence.

The Supreme Court further reiterated that sexual harassment “is a violation of fundamental right to gender equality and the right to life and liberty”

The Institute has constituted a Cell against sexual harassment headed by a woman. This Cell will be deemed to be Inquiry Authority for the purpose of Service Regulations and report of the enquiry/ investigation shall be deemed to be an Inquiry Report for disciplinary purposes.

Objectives:
The policy has been framed keeping the following objectives in view:

1. To ensure that the Institute upholds the commitment to ensure an environment without gender bias or gender based discrimination.
2. To prevent discrimination and sexual harassment against women, by promoting gender amity among students and employees.
3. To ensure the implementation of the policy in letter and spirit through proper reporting of complaints and their follow - up procedures.
4. To deal with cases of discrimination and sexual harassment against women, in a time bound manner, aiming at ensuring support services to the victimized and termination of the harassment.
5. To recommend appropriate punitive action against the guilty party.
6. To generate public opinion against sexual harassment and all forms of gender violence.
